トヨタ自動車と富士重工業が次世代の電気自動車（ＥＶ）の共同開発を検討していることが５日、分かった。富士重は７月から法人や地方自治体向けに軽自動車ベースのＥＶ「プラグイン（ＰＩ）ステラ」を販売しているが、次期ＥＶはトヨタとの共同開発車にして性能向上とコスト削減による低価格化を目指す。 両社は２０１０年代前半にも共同開発したＥＶを販売したい考えだ。トヨタは独自開発のＥＶを１２年に発売する計画だが、資本提携している富士重が既にＥＶを市販し、走行データやメンテナンス上の課題などのデータを蓄積しつつあることに着目。
